From Listeners to Leaders: A History of Women at ×ÔοÊÓƵ

August 28-November 25, 2018 Central Library (Second Floor Gallery)

This exhibit explores the history of women at ×ÔοÊÓƵ from the university’s nineteenth-century beginnings to the present day. It highlights women’s experiences as students, faculty, and staff at ×ÔοÊÓƵ, which only began to admit women and men undergraduates in equal numbers in the 1980s.

]]> Apply to be a Body Project intern! /womenscenter/news/apply-to-be-a-body-project-intern Fri, 27 Apr 2018 18:34:02 +0000 /womenscenter/?p=3695 The Body Project is a unique body-acceptance program designed to help young women resist cultural pressures to conform to the appearance ideal standard of female beauty and reduce their pursuit of this unrealistic ideal. The Body Project is supported by more research than any other body image program, and has been found to significantly reduce onset of eating disorders. The Peer Educator Internship is a position housed within the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center. In addition to working with staff members to facilitate workshops combating body image ideals, interns will also be required to attend weekly meetings at the Women’s Center.
